Power Backup
Date: 2008/8/6

Overview

Power backup system maintains a continuous supply of electric power to connected equipment by supplying power from a separate source when utility power is failed. It is typically used to protect facilities and equipments where an unexpected power disruption could cause injuries, fatalities, serious business disruption or data loss, such as hospitals, factories, airports etc. Nowadays, power backup system has become essential part in automation applications.

Application

In power backup system, standby generators play important role. In standby generator systems, reliability and space efficiency and user-friendly operation are required.
To fulfill needs of power substation automation system, Advantech offers:

Fanless embedded data server: Advantech UNO series is a fanless design, reliable and compact embedded computing platform. Its compact and robust design make the system operation robust.
Industrial-grade HMI: The ultra-slim, light, fanless and vibration-resistant design of Advantech TPC series provides an ideal HMI platform for power backup system applications. Users can easily control the system by tips on touch screen.
