A major video-related application provider in the USA requested development assistance from Advantech COM Design Support Services. Several COM-Express boards were needed to work in parallel to provide powerful video processing capability for this application, so the Advantech Computer on Module (COM) team joined the development process at a very earlystage of the project.
For this project, the Advantech COM Design Support Services team provided a schematic review of the customer’s carrier board to ensure that the major functions of the COM-Express boards were able to work with the customer’s carrier board. BIOS customization services designed the customer’s requirements into the BIOS. Debugging services solved a booting issue with the COM-Express board and the customer’s Windows XP Embedded operating system. Advantech also helped provide a customized heat-sink solution for this project, helping to reduce the design effort and cost forimplementing a thermal solution.
This is another example of a typical success story of the Advantech COM Design Support Services program. Early engagement of COM Design Support Services was a key factor to the success of this project.
