| INTRODUCTION |
Even though this module is so small, it still contains everything that a full-fledged computer requires. Advantech took its industry-proven PCM-3345 486-based PC/104 CPU module and added an on-board LCD controller (C&T69000) as well as 10/100Base-T Ethernet. The on-board LCD controller supports 18/36-bit LCD and has 2 MB display memory on chip. These features give our customers a small, complete and cost-effective board solution for applications that require network and LCD panel support in a limited space environment.
This module supports Watchdog timer protection. On board, there are two serial and one parallel ports, one FDD connector and one IDE connector, allowing for as much peripheral expansion as most much larger size SBCs. This board also supports one CompactFlashTM card for use as an emulated HDD. Advantech provides several size options of CompactFlash cards . Its on-board CPU is a 486 DX 66 MHz equivalent from ST Thompson (STPC). It is unique for a 486-based CPU in that its front side bus runs at 66 MHz, instead of only 33 MHz like Intel?/font> 486 CPUs. Also, since it's integrated on board, there is no need to configure CPU frequency or voltage. It supports 16, 32 and 64 MB EDO SO DIMM (optional).
