The PCD-894A PCMCIA carrier board is a PC/AT-compatible plug-in board with a single PCMCIA card slot which you access through the board mounting bracket.
The PCD-895A is a dual PCMCIA combination drive. Its external slave drive fits in any standard 3.5" drive bay and connects to the PCMCIA carrier board through a ribbon cable.
Both drives support all PCMCIA 2.0/JEDIA 4.1 Type I, II and III cards. They are compatible with Intel ExCA, Microsoft FFS-II, True-FFS and DOS FAT file system. PCMCIA memory cards can emulate a floppy drive and can be made bootable. PCMCIA memory cards offer faster data access than conventional disk drives and greater reliability in harsh industrial environments. They also give you a quick and easy way to move large amounts of data between computers.
These card drives also offer plug-and-play access to a wide range of PCMCIA I/O devices. Products include fax/modem cards, network interfaces, data-acquisition cards, ATA hard disks and DAS cards like the PCIA-71. Hard disks are fully DOS command compatible, allowing standard DOS commands like FDISK and FORMAT to be used.
The PCD-894A and PCD-895A are excellent for applications such as automatic testing systems, data logging, process monitoring and control and embedded PCs.
