INTRODUCTION
The COMpad-32 and COMpad-85 are PCMCIA Type II communication cards created with extra serial ports for notebook applications. The COMpad-32 comes with two RS-232 ports and the COMpad-85 comes with two RS-422/485 ports. Each port can be configured to standard COM3/4 or a 16-byte continuous I/O address. Furthermore, the serial ports are implemented with 16C550 UARTs, which makes the COMpad-32/85 ideal for multitasking environments and high speed applications.
