Japan Introduces Medical And Healthcare Solutions at International
Modern Hospital Show

exhibited medical-grade
e-platform products at the International Modern Hospital Show 2002
from July 17 to 19, 2002 at Tokyo Big Sight. Recognized
as the most comprehensive hospital and medical trade show in Japan,
this trade show was organized by the Japan Hospital Association
and the Nippon Omni-Management Association. This event was the first
medical-oriented exhibition that AJP joined for promoting Panel
PC products to the Japanese medical market and also the initial
step to probe potential business in medical market segment.
AJP
received 120 visitors during the three-day exhibition.
The product demonstration attracted visitors from different
industry fields, such as medical equipment manufacturers, hospital
environment system integration, hospital management and medical
advisers etc. Located in the Medical Information System Demo Zone of
the show, AJP presented the medical-grade e-Platform focusing on
several appealing points.

different medical environments.

Certification for Electronic devices—to emphasize the
importance of UL-2601/EN60601 certification, since the awareness
of using certified electronic equipment is still low in many of
Japan’s hospitals.

Service: SOM and SOC products were demonstrated to represent
Advantech’s technical ability at customization service.

Successful
Application Story: To introduce PPC-S153 to Toshiba Engineering’s
health care management system, PPC-103 used on Dräger KODEN’s
artificial respiration assisting machine, and PCM-5824 (SBC
solution) on NANAO’s hospital bedside monitor.
In
addition to the product exhibition, AJP also got great support from
Mr. David Lin/ACL, who is in charge of the core platform business
for the medical market. David gave a speech at the medical IT
solution seminar held along with the International Modern Hospital
Show to state Advantech’s policy and e-platform concept for the
medical market. David’s speech provided the highlight of the
exhibition and contributed to the success of the event.
AJP
sees this exhibition as the first step to penetrate the medical
market in Japan. Having the chance to contact many visitors and
vendors from the medical market during the event, Advantech Japan
sales team now knows where the business is and the right direction
to go. More concrete and effective sales promotion to customers in
the medical market will be the key action to take.
