Advantech Web Payphone and Panel Computer Bestowed National Award of Excellence
July 11, 2001
Taipei, Taiwan - After a keen competition among 670 products designed and created by leading Taiwanese companies in their respective fields, Advantech's new generation web payphone and touch panel computer each won a Silver National Award of Excellence in recognition of the innovation value these products encompassed.
The annual National Award of Excellence, organized by the Ministry of Economic Affairs, is a nationwide event to introduce the best products made in Taiwan to foreign press and buyers. The winning products of the Gold and Silver Awards were selected from over six hundreds products by an expert panel of international judges from the U.S., Italy, Germany and Japan, as well as Taiwan. Each product was evaluated on its level of quality systems, design, R&D innovation, market position and brand awareness.
Multimedia Web Payphone Forging e-Lifestyle
The ES-510 is a member of the first generation of Advantech web payphones. It is a highly integrated public service platform equipped with digital video/audio and communication, touchscreen LCD monitor and an embedded CCD camera. This product has already been a part of several projects with customers in Singapore and South-east Asia since its launch at the end of year 2000. Advantech has been selected by Chunghwa Telecom as the sole provider for a project to install 2,000 multimedia public web payphones around Taiwan.
Multi-functional Panel Computer for System Integration
Advantech’s Panel Computer is the second time winner of this award. The PPC-153T combines a high performance Pentium III CPU board, 15" XGA TFT LCD and an intuitive touchscreen within a compact chassis. This product is special for system integrators who are hunting for a computing solution that is compact yet has wide connectivity, multiple I/O connectors and high installation flexibility.
The awarding was held at the Taipei International Conference Center in late June, and President Chen Shui-Bian was invited to give a speech and bestow the Gold National Awards on the nine winners.
