12.1" Rugged and Fanless Panel Computer with Plug-in Accessories
March 1, 2001
Taipei, Taiwan - Advantech proudly announces the latest product in the Panel Appliance family, the PPC-A120T. Built with a 12.1" TFT LCD display and aluminum die-cast housing, the PPC-A120T is an ideal computing platform for applications that need a reliable and stable operator interface. By using a low-power NS Geode GX1 processor, no CPU fan is required when the system is installed in an open space.
Fanless System with Completely Sealed Housing
The slim chassis of the PPC-A120T is completely sealed to withstand harsh environment extremes. With no fan for heat dissipation, the aluminum die-cast housing of PPC-A120T acts as a heat sink to prevent the system from overheating. There are no ventilation holes on the PPC-A120T's enclosure to protect the system from dust and liquid. It also helps to prevent particle disruption in ultra-clean environments, such as clean rooms in the wafer fabs. Since semiconductor manufacturers are severely concerned with dust and impurities in the factory environment, Advantech has come forward with this solution to meet their computing needs.
Removable and Plug-in Accessory Modules
The power supply, hard disk drive and PCMCIA modules of the PPC-A120T can be easily removed for system maintenance. This modular design allows for easier and quicker replacement of accessories when these components have concerns.
Features
The main features of the PPC-A120T include an NS GX1 300 MHz processor and 64 MB SDRAM on-board (maximum to 128 MB); two COM ports, two USB, one parallel port and audio jacks providing flexible connection to external peripherals, and the 10/100Base-T Ethernet interface supports networking. In addition, an optional analog resistive touchscreen is available to make the PPC-A120T a user-friendly operator interface for data input and retrieval.
