 For most patients undergoing treatment with cytotoxic drugs, hair loss has always been a traumatic side-effect of this treatment. Significant Improvement in Patient Care
Dignitana's system addresses these side-effects by providing a more effective and comfortable treatment for the patient as well as a labor-saving advantage for hospital personnel. The equipment can be monitored or serviced over a network using a modem connection. The PPC-120T was used as a built-in control unit and operates via a Windows NT interface. Its touchscreen allows all commands to be entered directly onscreen. Two patients can be treated and monitored simultaneously. An alarm will sound if the temperature should deviate from the set value or if your selected defaults are detected. The system is a significant improvement over previous solutions. Advantech's PPC-120T's capabilities perfectly matched the needs this system required.

 Advantech's PPC-120T the Right Choice
The PPC-120T provided the features this company was looking for to control their machine. The PPC-120T is compliant with the IEC-601 standard required for medical equipment in Europe. Not only does it offer Pentium?MMX support for a processor up to 233 MHz, it also provides a 12.1" TFT LCD, IP 65/NEMA 4 protection and watchdog timer as well as power management features that make the system secure and stable. There are four serial ports and a 10/100Base-T Ethernet controller for advanced networking capabilities. Full Multimedia capability (Mic-in/Speaker-out/Line-in) and CD-ROM is provided. One expansion slot for a PCI/ISA card, one USB (Universal Serial Bus) port and one PCMCIA card bus (Type II x 2, Type III x 1) are also provided. These expansion capabilities allow the PPC-120T to not only function as a HMI, but also as a computing center which you can build your applications around.
