 Going to the dentist is often a difficult experience for patients. In addition to pain, a patient may be worried about what exactly is happening during the treatment. Until now, patients have only been able to view their mouth using mirrors. Thanks to new technology, the area of treatment can be conveniently displayed directly on an LCD screen. The digital intraoral image processing system includes a mist- proof intraoral camera,a full-function super-slim Panel PC, and professional management software. The system helps practitioners manage dental images and patients' databases,and provides better communication between dentists and patients.With this computer-aided equipment, treatment procedures become easier. At the same time, patients are able to see exactly what is going on during treatment without needless anxiety.
Advantech's PPC-120T is selected as the core system for the following functions:
- Fully computerized patient records
Dentists can easily create and maintain each patient's database, including personal information and x-ray images, using the Panel PC interface. Patients can also view images taken before and after treatment, to see what changes the treatment effected.
- Image history management
Including data editing, image capture, object marking, and patient history print-out. Dentistry terminology has been built into the PPC-120T in advance, so dentists can use hot keys to input symptom descriptions and to speed data processing.
- Entertainment terminal
The multimedia Panel PC with CD-ROM and built-in speakers can play VCD movies during treatment. This often helps to reduce a patient's fear and anxiety, and creates a more relaxed medical environment.
