The IT industry in Taiwan has a bias towards hardware, especially in the IPC field. Design and manufacturing of all kinds of customized cards have always been the main services provided by Taiwan manufacturers. Specifications for IPC and consumer PCs differ a lot because of their different applications and customers. For system integrators who are the main IPC customers, product stability is the primary criterion in choosing a partner. A partnership with a vendor can be enhanced if the quality of a system integrator’s product is directly influenced by that of IPC vendor, and the successful cooperation with an IPC manufacturer directly influences how fast the system integrators’ product can be launched onto the market. So there’s no doubt that initial choice of IPC manufacturer is very important for system integrators.
