A leading gaming machine company in Europe contacted Advantech to obtain a solution for two different project requirements. After reviewing the customer specifications, Advantech selected the SOM-4486 and the SOM-4455 to fulfill their application needs.

At the beginning of the project, the customer identified a need for a four-second system power off delay after the loss of AC power for their high-end gaming system (SOM-4486). Due to the fact that data storage is critical for gaming applications, this function was quite important to them. Advantech delivered a battery solution with time-switch mechanism and provided the reference schematics plus a block diagram at the same time. The customer also identified a special requirementto run a dual-display system on a Windows CE platform. Advantech not only offered the hardware solution, but also offered software recommendations for the customer’s special needs. Advantech’s suggestions enabled the customer to overcome a dual-display hardware obstacle and successfully implement their Win CE platform.
